Distortion is one of the most universally sought after effects. Indeed you can find many variations of the classic "distortion" sound. However, Sizzle Spine is a dedicated step-sequenced distortion unit. As such, you can create never-before-heard-of distortion effects. Imagine taking a drumloop sample, and as said sample loops, it is constantly corroded & crushed in a continually changing manner... the distortion effect always changing in realtime, as quickly or slowly as you see fit. Imagine singing through such a device, having your vocals alternate between clean and crispy at random or timed intervals. Like playing synths? Your leads will sound rawer, more alive than ever before once Sizzle Spine gets ahold of them; have your chord progressions play in time with ever increasing bit-reduction, for example. Want to make some grime beats? Sizzle Spine will take a stale and vapid 808 and mutate it into a ferocious and vicious beast.

THE FIRST STEP IS ALWAYS THE HARSHEST
Sizzle Spine works of a simple principle. It takes a series of distortion effects and aligns them to a "column". (There are 8 columns in Sizzle Spine.) Next, Sizzle Spine sequences your incoming source material through each of these columns one at a time using it's proprietary sequencing technology, "FLOW". By using FLOW you can step-sequence the columns one at a time, in any sort of sequencing style you want... be it straight, alternating, skipping, reverse, random, and more. FLOW has all sorts of unique sequencing abilities, including the ability to drive the sequence timing based on an LFO for extreme time variations. Or, if you wish, turn FLOW off, and just use one column at a time.
MORE THAN ONE WAY TO CRUSH A CAT
Sizzle Spine's columns all incorporate a series of distortion effects. Firstly, there's a WAVESHAPER for using vector offsets to directly corrode incoming audio. Next you've got a quality BITCRUSHER to further deprecate the stream. Afterwards comes the RECTIZER, a RECTifying QUANTizer, for severe audio marauding. And lastly, there's a DELAY, with timing offsets ranging from comb-filter like bursts to dub-style echoes. But Sizzle Spine's FX don't stop with its columns. No, there's GLOBAL FX as well! Such as a high-quality MAIN DELAY, and a MODELED ANALOG FILTER with LFO-able CUTOFF and RESONANCE (for sweeping effects!), as well as INCOMING and OUTGOING CLIPPERS, for further sound reduction-to-destruction. That's a lot of FX indeed. But have no fear of overdose, as every single effect in Sizzle Spine has it's own individual WET/DRY slider, as well as a button to simply turn the effect off if not needed, to save CPU cycles.
